AGENTS.md, REVIEW.md, .claude/ and .codex/ are written locally and describe how this fork is built and released here. They do not belong in the published repository, so drop them from the index and widen the ignore rules; the files stay on disk untouched. Upstream ships its own AGENTS.md and REVIEW.md, so merging upstream puts them back into the index — .gitignore does not cover a path a merge already tracked. Add a post-merge hook that removes them again, and record the manual command in AGENTS.md for the cases a hook does not cover, such as rebase, cherry-pick, or a merge stopped by conflicts.
